Aydin holds a masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from The Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine and a BA in Political Science and Near East History from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Aydin is licensed to practice acupuncture and herbal medicine by the California Acupuncture Board and the National Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He has worked as an associate with Dr Matt Van Benschoten, O.M.D., C.A. since 2011. Dr Van Benschoten is one of the foremost Chinese herbal medicine experts today. As one of his associates, Aydin has access to a constantly updated research database. A few of the many conditions treated herbally at M.M.Van Benschoten and Associates: supportive cancer care, environmental health (i.e., mold), immune dysfunction, respiratory conditions, arthritis support, chronic automimmune disease such as lupus, ALS, and multiple sclerosis.
In March 2006, Aydin completed an intensive training on “Acupuncture for the Cancer Patient” at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital in New York City. He worked in a naturopathic-based supportive cancer center in Summerland, CA where he was a part of a group providing hands-on reiki treatments. He lived in New York City for many years where he worked as a social worker and health advocate for both private and public agencies.
Aydin worked as a health consultant for the NYC Department of Health AIDS unit and also worked as a counselor for GMHC, one of the largest HIV/AIDS non-profit social service providers in the country. He has taken specialized training in Acupuncture Orthopedics at Cedar’s Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Aydin is an avid gardener and nature lover and enjoys designing and planting gardens.
